My name is Leah Taylor and I have been in education for almost 13 years now. My Bachelor's degree is in middle school education (5th-9th grade areas of math and science) and I have my Master's and Rank I degrees in school counseling. During my 13 years of experience, I have primarily taught honors math courses but am now embarking on a new chapter, college and career readiness (life skills). It is my hope that with my counseling degrees and educational experience that I may better serve our HMS students and families with information and opportunities that can help guide our students towards learning about themselves, what they may be interested in and ultimately how to get where they want to go. If you have contacts, resources, etc. through your own employer and would like to speak with me about arranging for my students to learn about them, please contact me! I want the students in my class to be exposed to as many different professions/post-secondary opportunities as they possibly can. Times are so different even from when I graduated high school, there isn't just one "cookie-cutter" way to a successful career anymore and our kids need to know all the pathways they can to be successful and actually pursue something that interests them.
On a personal note, I am a mom to two young boys. My oldest, Ace, is 3.5 years old and my youngest, Brooks, is 2 years old. I was born and raised here in Paducah, Ky and have enjoyed raising my family here as well.
